I started this as a sketch bust from ZSpheres a while back. Like with most of my models it has grown into a full character based on Ray Lamontagne. Currently I am retopologising the clothes as well as making some tweaks to the anatomy underneath ......... I know it's there :D

Another old head sculpt

here is a sculpt I did a few months back but never did a render.

Even though I get more used to Mudbox every time I use it it just makes me miss having access to ZBrush.

Just a bit of practice painting in Photoshop. Reference was a print we have above the sofa by an artist called Paul James. No reason why I drew a cow, it just happened.

Mud Head

Had a bit of down time so thought that I would try and sculpt a head in Mudbox to see how it compares to the mighty ZBrush.

Generally, once I had found the brushes that behaved similarly to my favourite ZB ones, it was pretty cool. A few little annoying things like not being able to mirror meshes (eg eyes) but there are always work arounds. Also, it didn't seem to handle the number of polys that ZB can and I was using a pretty high spec machine.

Will try and carry on the experiment while I only have a Linux box at work but for now I am still a ZB man!!

Anyway, here it is:

Bestia Oceanus

It's been a while but have finally found the time to do some work outside of work.

I found this concept by an artist called Tyler James and I thought it would be awesome to try and sculpt it. Other than the concept being fantastic I thought it would be good to try and work on a model which has someone else's style ........... just like I have to do at work. All in the name of practice!!!

Here it is. C & C's welcome as ever.
