Other bits and pieces
Here are a few other bits and bobs that I have been doodling around with.
A horse ........... for no apparent reason:
A colour pain over of J Jonah Jameson:
............ and lastly an update of my Ray Lamontagne model which has been floating around for far too long:
Speed sculpts
have recently go into recording some of my sculpting sessions. I find it really interesting to watch them back and realise where a model went right/wrong. I can also see myself spending too much time on bits that really don't require the attention. All in all it seems to be a god learning tool and also it's quite fun!!
Here are the last few that I have done:

The Deep Ones of Innsmouth
This was the product of a 3 week course on CGSociety taught by Bryan Wynia. The idea was to read the H P Lovecraft novella "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" which describes a sea dwelling race of creatures known as the Deep Ones. They have transformed from humans into something that looks both frog and fish like. We learnt a lot about Bryan's work-flow and techniques. Unfortunately, work and deadlines got in the way a little so I didn't spend nearly as much time as I should have on this. Having said that I was pretty pleased with the result.
The first stage of the process was to do 4 quick speed sculpts. You can see the original ideas in the left hand column. The initial sculpts were then copied 5 times and used as a base to explore new designs. It worked really well to be able to quickly get 20 concepts out.
Having picked the ideas, or combinations of elements, one of the sculpts was adjusted and refined.
With a quick polypaint and some extra material based renders the final image was comped in Photoshop.
Final Result:

More WIPs and doodles
Here are another couple of models I have been working on. The Sharkman is a model I have been working on for a while. I have recently had some feedback form a guy at work so am revisiting it a bit. The bust is War for the Darksiders game. I'm am a massive Joe Mad fan and really like this game, even though I suck at games in general. Is was a model done pretty quickly to get me loosed up for the Maquette sculpting course I am doing at CGSociety which starts this week.

Christopher Walken Bust
Here is a bust I did after catching Sleepy Hollow on TV. Ended up doing an older version of Christopher Walken in the end rather than a "Headless Horseman" version .......... I thought it was a bit more interesting!!
